Source: ©The Moodie Report By Dermot Davitt INTERNATIONAL. Airport shopping and entertainment app company FlyInStyle has teamed up with beacon technology company StickNFind to market to customers in the airport retail channel.
FlyInStyle and StickNFind announced a retail alliance in August.
FlyInStyle has integrated StickNFind beacon technology into its technology platform, to offer what it says is “a holistic mobile and digital solution for marketers in the travel retail industry”.
Beacons installed in airport stores communicate with the FlyInStyle mobile application, allowing partners to directly ping passengers’ mobile phones with exclusive offers and messages, even when the FlyInStyle app is not running in the phone. Passengers can therefore learn about retail offers as they walk through airports, driving store traffic and purchases, according to FlyInStyle.
“This is the type of technology that brings the FlyInStyle user experience to a whole new level,” said FlyInStyle CEO and Founder Amanda Anthony. “This alliance means our users receive amazing airport tips and real-time promotions on the go. This will be a game changer for travel retailers in the airport space on how they connect with the connected traveller.”
The FlyInStyle app launched in March, as reported, and showcases offers and event in airport retail to travellers.
