Wozniak's Q&A with Grant Thornton CEO Mike McGuire capped the two-day Southeast Venture Conference, the largest gathering of entrepreneurs, startup founders and venture capitalists in the region. The conference coincided with the last day of the Charlotte Venture Challenge, a 14-year-old pitch contest offering startups the chance to pitch ideas to investors for possible funding.

INTERNATIONAL. New technology company FlyInStyle has launched its airport concessions super-app via the App Store, after a year-long test period. As reported, the new app aims to deliver special offers and promotions to travellers, and become a marketing tool for airport concessionaires.
South Florida entrepreneurs gave their pitches this week to potential investors at the Startup Expo in Boca Raton.
About 300 people — 20-somethings to 70-somethings — attended the inaugural Startup Expo organized Wednesday by the Gold Coast Venture Capital Association to help entrepreneurs connect with investors.
FlyInStyle, launching in the App Store in early March 2014 (with an Android version following shortly) helps travelers connect with their favorite brands and retailers for instant deals, product launches, happy hours and more.

FlyInStyle is a social travel app company that is building a new smartphone application to give travelers the best of their favorite social apps plus a personal travel assistant all in one.
Launch Pad Tech, Miami's new accelerator opening in downtown Miami in January, on Monday announced its selections for its Community Program, which attracted 90 applications.
